Cheshire District 4

Common Sense and Civility

ABOUT ME

Putting My Experience
to Work

 Background

I'm Tom Savastano, and I'm running for NH State Representative in Cheshire District 4.

My wife Ann and I have lived in Keene for 9 years. I'm an ordained minister (D.Min., M.Div.) with extensive nonprofit and social services experience; along with running a small business. My social service experience includes, before moving to NH, being Massachusetts Statewide Director for The Salvation Army’s Bridging the Gap life-skills diversion program for youth with first-time criminal offenses. I grew the program from six to thirteen cities, working in conjunction with district attorneys’ offices and juvenile probation departments. I currently serve on the City of Keene's Congregate Living and Social Services Licensing Board.

I've had great experience working with people of diverse backgrounds and look forward to serving the citizens of Keene in the State House. I would love to hear from voters in Cheshire 4 and will do my best to answer any questions you have. The best way to reach me is by email: tom@votesavastano.com

I ask for your vote on November 5. Our district will vote at the Symonds School, 79 Park Avenue in Keene from 8 AM to 7 PM.

Thank you!

 Policies

My campaign is based on the core principles of common sense, and civility.

Common sense values include limited government, protecting our border, lower taxes and spending, and protecting our inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I plan to promote fiscal responsibility, oppose new state taxes, and find ways to reduce local property taxes.

America should be energy-independent, for both our national security and economic prosperity. We should also promote the development of sustainable energy made in America.

Common sense in education means focusing on academic and vocational excellence in our public schools. I believe that competitive school markets will best promote quality education, and I want to foster collaboration between parents, teachers, and school boards. I support Educational Freedom Accounts (EFA's) to help parents choose the best school match for their children.

Regarding civility, I believe that NH's state legislature is a 'laboratory of democracy' and I look forward to working together respectfully with all representatives to best serve NH's citizens.
